Our story / Mount Kailash crystal

From stone
to keepsake.

A journey through raw crystal, patient craft and a moment of blessing.

Follow the journey
A glimpse into the world of raw crystal.

01 / Where it begins

A stone, before
it becomes a piece.

For our Mount Kailash crystal chapter, we work with local Tibetan collectors to source raw crystal. We begin by looking closely: at the shape, the clarity, the inclusions and the small differences that make one stone unlike another.

The journey

From the first selection to the return journey, the raw material remains at the centre of the story. Some crystals hold a quiet transparency; others carry clouds, colour and mineral traces within them.

02 / Choosing the material

Let the stone
suggest the form.

Each piece starts with a decision about the material. A crystal point may keep its natural outline, held by a cord wrap or a setting. Material chosen for beads follows a different path, with cutting, rounding and polishing before it is strung.

Our photographs show raw stones and collection details. The steps below describe the making of round crystal beads.

03 / From rough stone to round bead

Eight steps.
Attention at each one.

  1. Select

Choose rough crystal suited to the intended bead size and character.

  2. Cut

Divide the selected material into small blocks, sized for the beads.

  3. Chamfer

Ease the sharp corners to prepare each block for rounding.

  4. Round

Continue shaping until the pieces take on a rounded form.

  5. Refine

Grind and smooth the surface, checking the shape as work progresses.

  6. Mark

Mark the drilling position on each bead.

  7. Drill & polish

Drill, polish and sort the beads before assembly.

  8. String

Arrange the selected beads and string the finished piece.

A character of its own

Clouds, lines
and light.

The interest of crystal lies in its differences. Internal lines, inclusions and variations in colour remain part of the material we choose. Finishing brings a piece together while leaving room for that individual character.

04 / A moment of blessing

Before it
comes to you.

After the pieces are made, we bring them for a master's blessing before offering them for sale. For us, this is a moment to pause and give attention to the journey — from the raw stone to the object someone will choose to keep close.

The chapter shares the story of our Kailash crystal work. For the material, origin and specifications of an individual piece, please refer to its product details.
