Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Thangka and tsa-tsa?
Thangka presents figures and motifs through painting; tsa-tsa presents them in sculpted or moulded relief. Thangka pendants invite a closer look at brushwork and colour, while tsa-tsa pendants emphasise form and depth.
How are these pieces made?
Our artisans give care to each small detail. Hand-painted Thangka works are built up with fine brushwork, while tsa-tsa works are shaped in relief and finished according to the individual piece. See each product description for its specific construction.
Are natural mineral pigments used?
Our hand-painted Thangka works use natural mineral pigments to create rich, layered colour. Pigments and finishes for tsa-tsa pieces vary; please refer to the materials and finish described for the piece you choose.
What do the figures and motifs symbolise?
Different figures and motifs carry different traditional meanings. You can choose through the expression, colours and personal intention that speak to you. The figure and symbolism of each work are explained in its product description.
Is every piece blessed before it reaches me?
Yes. After each artwork is completed, it must receive a blessing from our Master Tenzin before leaving our workshop and making its way to you, carrying our wishes for peace and well-being.
How should I wear and care for my pendant?
Avoid water, knocks, prolonged direct sunlight, perfume and cleaning chemicals. Gently wipe the outer case with a soft, dry cloth; do not rub the painting or coloured surface. Store separately and check the cord and connections regularly.

Thangka Pendant
The story of this piece
Past & Present Art Pendant - Multicolor Design
Many colours bring portrait and mask into the same frame. A life can make room for more than one version of the self, without losing the thread between them.
Creative Inspiration
Different scraps of fabric become a single patchwork cover. Their colours retain their own histories while making something new together. The paired faces inspire the same imagined reconciliation of separate parts.
