Frequently asked questions

Where does the agate come from?

Our agate comes from the Mount Kailash mountain range in Ngari, Tibet. We source it from local collectors.

Who crafts our Dzi beads?

After sourcing the agate, our own artisans craft it into Dzi beads, giving care to the natural stone and each detail of the finished piece.

What do one to nine eyes symbolise?

These are the symbolic meanings we share with our pieces; interpretations vary across traditions.

  • One eye · Focus and clarity
  • Two eyes · Harmony and companionship
  • Three eyes · Blessings, prosperity and longevity
  • Four eyes · Wisdom and protection
  • Five eyes · Abundance and fulfilment
  • Six eyes · Harmony and balance
  • Seven eyes · Fulfilment and achievement
  • Eight eyes · Auspiciousness and a smooth journey
  • Nine eyes · Wholeness and completeness
How are the patterns made?

Our artisans use an etched-pattern technique: designs are drawn onto the agate, then developed through treatment and firing. Natural stone and carefully worked patterns come together in each bead.

Is every piece blessed before it reaches me?

Yes. After each artwork is completed, it must receive a blessing from our Master Tenzin before leaving our workshop and making its way to you, carrying our wishes for peace and well-being.

How should I wear and care for my Dzi?

Avoid knocks, drops, sudden temperature changes, perfume and cleaning chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry. Care for silver and other companion materials separately, and check cords and connections regularly for wear.

The story of this piece

White Agate Dzi Motif Woven Necklace

A pale agate Dzi-style bead and light cord give this necklace a soft, watchful mood, carrying a personal wish for clear intentions and gentle boundaries.

Creative Inspiration

A pale ribbon marks a page in a book passed between two friends. It preserves a place without closing the story. The horizontal bead and small drop become an imagined sign for something worth returning to.

Details

  • White and grey agate Dzi-style centre bead
  • Six selectable patterns: Canopy Three-Eye, Nine-Eye, Treasure Vase, Tiger Tooth, Eight-Eye and Six-Eye
  • Light braided cord, contrasting striped spacers and gold-tone fittings
  • One necklace in the selected pattern; no antique age is attributed
  • Adjustable braided construction; exact length is not documented

Handcraft

The cord is braided and finished by hand, with the central bead connected to a small decorative drop and contrasting side spacers. Each motif is kept separate in the variant photographs.

Tradition & Meaning

Dzi eye and symbolic patterns are associated in Tibetan tradition with auspicious wishes and protective intention. These contemporary agate designs draw on that visual language as wearable personal symbols.

Care

Keep dry and away from perfume, detergents, heat and prolonged direct sunlight. Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking, ultrasonic cleaning, impacts and pulling the cord or fittings. Store separately from harder jewellery.

The dZi Note

Objects we choose to keep close

Across Himalayan cultures, dZi beads may be carried as objects of memory, family, and personal meaning. Their stories differ by place and by person. Read the cultural note behind the form.

Our intention

We began with a simple intention: to offer pieces worth keeping close. Our approach is to choose stones with care, looking at their individual grain, colour and character, and to give equal attention to the craft around them — the balance of a composition, the feel of a cord and the finish of each detail. We value thoughtful selection over uniformity, and workmanship that lets the material speak. From the first choice of stone to the final presentation, our aim is a piece that feels considered, personal and made to stay with you.
