CLOTH · WIND · GOODWILL
Colour moves; an intention is given to the open air.

Prayer flags are more than colour in a landscape. Printed cloth can bear prayers, mantras, auspicious images and sacred figures. Prayer flags are found in both Buddhist and Bön cultural settings; their forms and meanings are not identical in every community.
In Tibetan Buddhist practice, the movement of wind is understood to carry prayers and goodwill outward for the benefit of beings. Hanging a flag can therefore express a wish that reaches beyond oneself: compassion, peace and freedom from suffering. It is an act of aspiration, not a guarantee that a personal wish will be fulfilled.
A closer reading
Look closely at a wind-horse flag and the composition becomes more than a pattern. A horse may occupy the centre, with animals, inscriptions and prayers around it. Other designs place a deity or teacher at the centre. Himalayan Art Resources documents considerable variation across Buddhist and Bön examples; a single design is not a universal template.
That variety matters when choosing a service. Ask what is printed and what the selected count means, rather than assuming that all strings contain the same text or number of flags.

Let a personal wish make room for others: the person named, the community around them, and beings beyond our immediate view.
On our hanging-service page, 50, 108, 365, 1,000 and 2,000 refer to individual flags, not strings or bundles. Choose the count on that page and provide your dedication name and wish.
This is a one-time hanging service. The flags remain at the hanging site; no physical item is shipped to your home. Ongoing replacement or maintenance is not included.
The prayer-flag service’s own listing states completion within 15 calendar days after both your name and wish are received. Onsite photos and video are then personally emailed to the address used at checkout. The chapter currently has still photography only; a dedicated cultural film has not yet been supplied.
